This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Shri Law Chambers ("we", "us") collects through this website, shrilaw.com, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and is written with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in view.

Who we are

Shri Law Chambers is a chamber of advocates founded by Arvind Kumar Tripathi, Advocate, in 1991, with chambers at the Allahabad High Court, Prayagraj and the Supreme Court of India, New Delhi. We decide why and how the personal information described in this policy is used.

Information we collect

We collect only the information described below.

  • Enquiry form (Contact page): your name, mobile number and the case details you choose to write.
  • Guest article form (Legal Blogs page): your name, designation, email address, mobile number, the article file you upload, an optional Bar Council enrolment or other identification number, and a short biography.
  • Telephone, WhatsApp and email: the information you give us when you contact us through the links on this website. These conversations take place on the services you choose and are also governed by their own terms.
  • Website usage: through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, information such as the pages you visit, the website that referred you, your device and browser type, your approximate location (city or region), and whether you click our telephone, WhatsApp or email links or submit a form. This information is collected with cookies and is not used by us to identify you.
  • Technical data: our hosting provider records technical data such as IP addresses in server logs in order to deliver the website and keep it secure.

We do not ask for passwords, bank, card or other financial account details through this website. If you choose to describe a medical condition or other sensitive matter in an enquiry, for example in a disability pension matter, we use it only to consider and respond to your enquiry and we treat it as confidential.

Why we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry, to consider whether we are able to act in the matter, and to arrange a consultation if you wish.
  • To consider a guest article for publication, to correspond with you about it, and, if it is published, to show your name, designation and biography with it.
  • To understand how the website is used, so that we can improve its content and make it work better.
  • To keep the website secure and to prevent misuse of our forms.
  • To comply with the law, with orders of courts and authorities, and with our professional obligations as advocates.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for any purpose that is not described in this policy.

Your consent

By submitting a form or contacting us through this website, you consent to our use of the information you provide for the purposes described above. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us at contact@shrilaw.com. Withdrawal does not affect anything done before it, and we may then be unable to continue with your enquiry or article.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics, provided by Google, through Google Tag Manager, to measure visits and the use of the website. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser for this purpose. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Information about how Google uses data from websites that use its services is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Who we share information with

Your information is seen within Shri Law Chambers only by the advocates and staff who need it to deal with your enquiry or article. We also use service providers who process information on our behalf, and who may store it on servers outside India:

  • Netlify, which hosts this website and stores the submissions made through our forms;
  • Google, which provides Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager;
  • our email service provider, for enquiries sent to us by email;
  • WhatsApp (Meta), where you choose to contact us on WhatsApp.

We may disclose information where the law requires it, including in response to an order of a court or a lawful request of a Government agency.

Confidentiality

We treat what you tell us in an enquiry with the discretion expected of advocates. Submitting an enquiry does not, however, create an advocate-client relationship, and we may be unable to act for you, for example because of a conflict of interest. Please do not send original documents or highly confidential material until we have confirmed that we are able to take up your matter.

How we protect your information

The website is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, access to form submissions is limited to those who need it, and our service providers maintain their own security safeguards. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information while it is being transmitted to us.

How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was given, and after that only as long as the law or our professional obligations require. You may ask us to delete your information earlier, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct, update or complete it, to delete it, or to stop using it, and you may withdraw your consent. Write to the Grievance Officer named below. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

Any complaint or concern about the handling of your personal information may be addressed to our Grievance Officer: Shashank Shri Tripathi, Advocate, Shri Law Chambers, Chamber No. 203, Tribhuvan Upadhyay Block, Allahabad High Court, Prayagraj 211017; email contact@shrilaw.com; telephone +91 70309 93798.
